Highly recommend doing the Ross Maxwell Drive. There are numerous pullouts to see beautiful vistas. Make sure to stop at the Sotol Vista, Mule Ears View Point, Castolon, and the Sublett House Ruins…Full review by MMUPnorth

This is a nice long drive where you get to see all kinds of different rock formations. Make sure to have a full tank of gas and plenty of water. Some of the overlooks have toiletsFull review by TravelingBum52

From Panther Junction Visitor Center to Cottonwood Campground, approx 1 hour and 15 minutes. Many great turnouts and photo opportunities. I would say 4 to 5 hours total there and back, doing all the shortest turnouts.
We have 3 young children so we are thinking we need 2 days to see everything we want to see - where do you sleep there? Only camping? Thank you in advance!

Stay in Basin Lodge. Easiest trail in the Basin there. Must do the Fossil Discovery Exhibits, it’s hands on for children.
