LOWELL — The Boston Fleet escaped a late push from the New York Sirens to win in a shootout on Friday. With five minutes left to play, the Fleet led 2-0. 2:30 later, the game was tied up two apiece as the Sirens' Ella Shelton scored two goals.

After dominating play for the first 50-plus minutes of Friday night’s contest against the New York Sirens, another late collapse by the Boston Fleet meant the game was left hanging in the balance in a shootout.

The Boston Fleer held on for a 3-2 shootout win over the New York Sirens in a physical contest in front of 5,912 fans at Tsongas Center in Lowell.
