A major, 7.6-magnitude earthquake struck in the Caribbean Sea on Saturday and triggered a tsunami advisory in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, according to the United States Geological Survey.

A 7.6 magnitude earthquake struck the Caribbean Sea, initially raising tsunami alerts, which were later lifted.

While the tsunami warnings were issued for U.S. territories Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, there is no threat to the U.S. Atlantic or Gulf Coast.
