Teaming up with Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine production company, Amazon MGM Studios is working on a new prequel series that will focus on Elle Woods’s high school days. Witherspoon opened up about the inspiration behind the project in a January 2025 interview on The Tonight Show.

The “ Legally Blonde ” prequel series at Amazon Prime Video has found its young Elle Woods. Lexi Minetree has been cast in the lead role of “Elle,” which will follow Woods during her high school years before she went off to Harvard.
