Wu made the case that the future of Boston is bright under her leadership on Wednesday, a key opportunity for her to pitch her vision for the city to voters as she seeks reelection this year.

After the White House called Wu a "radical mayor" in response to her State of the City address, Wu responded on Thursday with a statement that said "Boston's record does not match their reckless propaganda".

While Boston Mayor Michelle Wu focused the meat of her State of the City address on local accomplishments and initiatives, she did open and close the address with direct nods to the national political atmosphere.
