COME BY CHANCE, N.L. – Police have charged a man with mischief endangering the lives of others after a small bag of acetylene exploded in a welding area last fall at an oil refinery in Newfoundland.

It probably dates around 1910. These lamps produce and burn acetylene, and were originally used in mines, before they became a more common form of illumination for vehicles and buildings.
