Vigor took home two of the top honors in this year’s Press-Register Coastal Alabama All-Region girls basketball team. The Wolves’ star center, Jamonica Chambers, was named Coastal Player of the Year,

The Arkansas Pine-Bluff transfer shined in her Alabama NCAA Tournament debut, and the Crimson Tide needed Green to shine. Green averaged 15.7 points per game, second on the team, but was the third option at times behind 3-point ace Aaliyah Nye and Sarah Ashlee Barker.

The NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament enters the Sweet 16 today and Saturday. A handful of former high school girls basketball players from New York are still playing in the tournament with their respective teams.
