A settlement involving the NCAA, conferences and schools that would have allowed college athletes to share in revenue has been delayed by judge.

The judge is giving attorneys 14 days to implement a system that will assure athletes who are on NCAA rosters do not lose their spot — something that’s happening across the country.

The NCAA and the nation's biggest conferences were set to pay $2.8 billion in damages to both current and former players over the next 10 years. If approved, colleges would have begun compensating their athletes in all sports on July 1, 2025, with an annual allowance of around $20 million to athletes for use of their name, image and likeness.
