Layden is among 36 players in Purdue women's basketball history with over 1,000 career points and one of just five to have 1,000 points and 200 3-pointers. She was a Big Ten Conference honorable mention as a sophomore, made the Big Ten Conference all freshman team and is a career 83.7% free throw shooter.

Former Purdue guard Madison Layden is rejoining the program for the 2025-26 season, per a social media statement. She's a 1,000-point scorer for the Boilers.

MSU coach Beth Cunningham will now have to replace her entire starting lineup after losing four to graduation and a fifth to the transfer portal.
