A new wildfire was reported today at 5:53 p.m. in Los Angeles County. The wildfire has been burning on private land. There is currently no information about the containment efforts for the fire and its cause has yet to be determined.

The Eaton Fire is almost completely contained in the Altadena area northeast of Los Angeles. On the LA County coast, the Palisades Fire is over three-fourths contained. The Hughes Fire, which broke out in the Lake Castaic area Wednesday north of Los Angeles, is over 50% contained.

With more rain in the forecast for the coming week, L.A. County officials are scrambling to prepare the region for precipitation that could severely impact areas recently burned by wildfires. A bulletin issued by L.

LA County Supervisor Lindsey Horvath, LA County Public Works Director Mark Pestrella, and other officials held a news conference to discuss the precautions and preparations underway in Pacific Palisades and Malibu before the rain headed to Southern California this week.
