The Calgary Flames are getting ready to return from the Four Nations break. They currently trail the Vancouver Canucks by three points for the final wild-card spot in the Western Conference.

The writing was on the wall when the Calgary Flames gave Tyson Barrie the day off on Wednesday. On Thursday, the Flames officially placed the veteran defenceman on waivers, a move that quite possibly brings his time with the team to an end.

In advance of their return to action following the 4 Nations Face-Off, the Calgary Flames appear to be making a roster adjustment. Per a report from Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli, the Flames are expected to be placing blueliner Tyson Barrie on waivers at noon MT on Thursday.
