Novak Djokovic believes that “favoritism” is damaging tennis’ anti-doping system as several players speak out in light of Jannik Sinner’s three-month ban.

Novak Djokovic says a majority of tennis players have lost faith in the anti-doping authorities following Jannik Sinner’s three-month ban, and there’s a widespread feeling that “favoritism” is being shown to the sport’s biggest stars.

Jannik Sinner has accepted a three-month ban from tennis to settle a case which has lingered over the sport for months after he twice tested positive for a banned substance, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) announced on Saturday.

Novak Djokovic lamented the “favoritism” shown to World No. 1 Jannik Sinner over his three-month doping ban.

The timing means the 23-year-old Italian won't miss any Grand Slam tournaments. The French Open, the season's next major, starts May 25.

Sinner will be eligible to return in early May and be able to participate in The French Open later that month.
