Sep 23, 2020 · The XPS one is Cat# 377-5466. I can't help on the XHP. If as Per ERik says you are an XHP, then you may have the wrong plug. I have a 289D and 299D3, both XPS. With the Cat plug in, and an AFE mulcher (no electrical connections), and the HiFlow Rocker switch activated- I activate the roller switch on the right handle.

Jan 4, 2025 · I think it has 2700 hours on it. The plastic disc appears intact. The splines are just stripped in the center. There is evidence the pump has been off before. The mounting bolts on mine were 14mm spline headed. I bought the machine from an individual and he was a liar. The charge pump has junk yard pen writing on it "299d XHP".

Jan 2, 2023 · On Page 2 of the third thread is a direct quote from a member and owner of a 299D2 - "Cat service said if it's hard parts it would be covered under warranty for 5yrs and 3000 hrs". IMHO that 5yr/3k hours would be from the machine being new and would not simply apply to the original purchaser.

Nov 3, 2024 · Ok I’ve got a 299d xhp that will crank no start. It just died while running it the other day. Did notice that the temperature gauge bottoms out on the high side for some reason and that was a code in it. Replaced the coolant sensor with no luck have these codes in the machine 2685-8 2686-8 E459-2 E875-3 E361-3 E391-1 Serial number nlc00591

If the machine ECM does not receive a response, the E459-2 code will become active. In this situation, Cat ET will also not be able to connect to the engine ECM.

May 12, 2016 · My 2016 299d2 xhp steel tracks with fecon head ran 207 degree water temp tracking 3 miles into a job site not running the mulcher outside air temp was between 83 and 90. Also have a 2014 299d xhp rubber track with hm415b mulcher it ran 209 degree water temp. I'm sure when working the machine the water temps are higher.
