Point Stadium is the home stadium for the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown Mountain Cats college baseball team, an NCAA Division II program that competes in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC).

Aug 3, 2024 · Originally built in 1926, Point Stadium has a long and distinguished history as one of Johnstown’s crown jewels. The Point has served as host of the AAABA Tournament since 1945. In 2018, Sargent’s Group signed a five-year deal with the City of Johnstown for naming rights of the stadium, which now is Sargent’s Stadium at the Point.

Sargent’s Stadium at the Point is a premier outdoor recreational venue that hosts the Johnstown AAABA League, the Annual AAABA National Tournament, UPJ baseball, and other local colleges. Sargent’s Stadium is also the home to Bishop McCort High School football, baseball and soccer, and many Parochial League events.

Although renovations have pretty much removed all the original 1920s aspects, this storied place is worth the visit for its history alone! In addition, although there are NO covered seats, ALL of them are in the shade for 7 pm games, due to a mountain ridge in just the right place!

Point Stadium was the home of the Johnstown Johnnies of the independent Frontier League. The ballpark was built in 1926, wedged between two rivers and a street. It is old, it had an upper-deckectomy in the 1960's, and it is very much showing it's age.

Point Stadium had been home to a Frontier League franchise, but its likely that 2002 was the last year. It is a great old ballpark set in a rather scenic location. Streets and Rivers box this stadium in accounting for its odd dimensions.

Point Stadium, so called because of its location at (almost) the point where the Little Conemaugh flows into the Stoneycreek, was, how you say, unique. It did double duty for baseball and football, and its shape was dictated by John Street, Washington Street, and the Stoneycreek.

The old Point Stadium was the site of filming for the movie All the Right Moves, starring Tom Cruise, Lea Thompson and Craig T. Nelson in 1982-83. Point Stadium is named for its location at the point of land at the confluence of the Stoneycreek and Conemaugh Rivers.
