Sim City 3000 will actually work on Windows 7 with a patch. I had a friend (more knowledgeable about these things than me) download and install the patch for me.

Last Simcity game didn't go well because EA wanted always online thing and look how that turned out. Perhaps you should local and buy to play method just like in the 2000s without additional nonsense, please consider remastering Simcity 3000, I say simcity 3000 because it was a better one with amazing soundtrack musics.
